About the Opportunity:

Are you engaged in social impact actions in the townships? Are you duly registred in South Africa? Local Initiatives Fund South Africa (LIFSA) is interested in your actions and ideas! Please join their new initiative LIFSA and apply to finance your project

The LIFSA call for proposals aims to promote the care of vulnerable children and the empowerment of youth and women through support to civil society organizations in the townships of Johannesburg.

It takes place in a context where poverty and unemployment in South African townships have been amplified by the health crisis, which has also reduced the capacity of local associations to help the most vulnerable populations, especially children and girls.

Funding

The initiatives selected by the selection committee will receive a subsidy of maximum 10.000€. Once the project is approved, the funds will be disbursed in two instalments.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible civil society organisations as well as public or private entities duly registered in South Africa with a social impact in the townships are invited to submit projects in at least one of the following fields:

Education
Child protection
Vocational training
Entrepreneurship
Food security
Health
Culture
Sport

2. Your organisation is strongly encouraged to try out for our call for proposals.

3. We are looking for project ideas carried out by young adults involved with children under the age of 6, youth or women.

4. The project can address gender gaps, inclusion of people with disabilities, environmental challenges, entrepreneurship and innovation!

5. The project can be carried out in partnership with another association. However, you can only submit one project per organisation. Applicant organisations will receive a site visit before the approval of their project.
