About the Opportunity:
The Africa No Filter Comedy Lab is seeking fresh and distinctive content that challenges perceptions of African communities, countries, and the continent as a whole. ANF Comedy Lab will provide a platform for showcasing skits digitally.
They support the community of storytellers and organisation already working to shift stereotypical narratives of Africa through the development of nuanced and contemporary stories. We do this by investing in Research, Grantmaking, Community Building and Advocacy. Africa No Filter Launches Fund to Empower Emerging African Comedians
Benefits of the Opportunity:
Successful applicants will get a grant of up to $3,000 to produce new content
Additional Support; mentorship by established professional comics, a masterclass aimed at boosting their business of their humour and marketing support to amplify their work and public profiles.
Eligibility Criteria & Requirements:
To apply for the Africa No Filter Comedy Lab;
You are required to; produce a comedy skit that is 45 seconds to 1 minute long and upload it on your Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok page. Use the hashtags #ANFComedyLab and #BetterRepresentation, and tag @Africanofilter.
Your skit should showcase a powerful and positive storyline that challenges stereotypical narratives about an African country or the continent in a funny, innovative, and captivating way.
Once you have created your skit, you need to submit an online application on ANF's website, including links to your comedy videos. The language of delivery can be in English or French.
